Neighbourhood Support:

is all about knowing who your neighbours are, and being there for them in times of need. It is also about knowing how to contact them if you should need help or advice. Neighbourhood Support (NS) in Snells Beach is linked to Civil Defence. The NS network is used as a phone tree in the case of a Civil Defence emergency, such as Adverse Weather Warnings, Tsunami warnings etc. We receive Civil Defence warnings, both via email and text messages, which will be forwarded to the group. We will advise all members of incidents of local crime when we hear of them. This is via newsletters, sent out about fortnightly, as the need arises. Please keep us informed! The Mahurangi Policing Centre is listed as the Neighbourhood Support office for Rodney,it is where all the NS packs are made up and is manned by NS volunteers from 10am to 2pm, Monday to Friday. On joining NS, households are given a pack of information on how to keep themselves safe, including Civil Defence Information.
